Units of the College Vice Deanship of Research and Innovation

Mission

The College Vice Deanship for Research and Innovation seeks to build a stimulating research and innovation ecosystem within the College of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Jeddah, contributing to the production of high-impact research and innovative technological solutions, and empowering students and faculty members to transform knowledge into products, partnerships, and tangible real-world impact that serves the priorities of Saudi Vision 2030 and strengthens the University’s position in the fields of computing, artificial intelligence, and smart logistics.

Objectives
  • To support a culture of innovation and technological entrepreneurship, and to enable graduation projects to be transformed into viable business models and products.
  • Building research and innovation partnerships with relevant government and industrial sectors, particularly in the areas of transportation and logistics, defense, cybersecurity, and smart technologies.
  • Enhancing the research skills of faculty members and students, including preparing funding proposals and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Overseeing research labs and specialized academies (e.g., the Drone Academy and Big Data Academy) to maximize their impact in education, research, and community service.
  • Empowering students to engage in hackathons, forums, and national and international technology and innovation events.
  • Aligning the college’s outputs with labor market needs through joint projects, initiatives, and training programs with partners.
