A research team obtains two patents in the field of biometric traits from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, led by Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Ayyad Al Shaddadi. The patent aims to verify the identity of people’s fingerprints through a smart algorithm by verifying that the data is authentic and not fabricated by the biometric fingerprint, in order to repel cybersecurity attacks that deliberately penetrate systems based on electronic authentication with biometric features through attacks that fabricate people’s biometric features.

The winning team received a training scholarship at Draper University in the United States of America worth a quarter of a million riyals.
